The Fire Code has a requirements under Division B. 6.4.3.7 that requires you to hydrostatically test the dry portion of the fire department connection piping of the buildings standpipe system.
Every 5 years the standpipe system requires to be hydrostatically tested for 2 hours.
If you own a building that has a standpipe system with a fire department connection and the systems fire department connection piping has been in service for more than thirty years or the age of the piping cannot be determined the testing is required.
Ontario Fire Protection has certified technicians that can conduct standpipe hydrostatic testing to the code requirements to help assist with keeping the buildings system operating to the proper scheduled maintenance.
