Fire Hose & fire hydrant inspection

Fire Hoses

Fire Hose and Cabinet

The Fire Code requires under NFPA 25 to  inspect all fire hoses and cabinets  annually. When your equipment ages the materials it is constructed from can degrade. Hydro-static testing and visual inspections are the best way to know if your equipment is up to the job.

Fire hoses require hydro-static testing when they have been in service for five (5) years, then every three (3) years afterwards.

Ontario Fire Protection can conduct inspections on your hoses annual and to perform hydro-static tests when required, to give you, your employees and building occupants protection and peace of mind.

Fire Hydrant

Fire hydrant inspections are required by the Fire Code under NFPA 291. Annual maintenance and winter maintenance is one of the best ways to keep the fire hydrant in the best working order.

Fire hydrants must always be operable and capable of providing adequate fire protection, so systematic maintenance and inspection are vital. Repairs can be scheduled proactively instead of re-actively, and problems can be dealt with before they become catastrophic.

Hydrants should be inspected on a regular basis at least once a year. Dry-barrel hydrants may require two inspections per year, in the spring and fall.

Every hydrant inspection should be documented, and problems with a hydrant should be reported immediately.

Ontario Fire Protection has certified technicians that can provide hydrant maintenance, inspections, and winter maintenance to your private or public hydrants. Ontario Fire Protection recently have taken over Jackson Waterworks contracts for their hydrant inspections.
